my guy literally invented and reinvented a genre several times over. gave us like three franchise starters. best king adaptations. went above and beyond and outside of horror and shot all sorts of movies. got trash movies to his name giving him depth. gave us kurt russell. did a 90s chevy chase movie and didnt kill himself. revolutionary effects. slapped one key on a keyboard and gave us all time classics. did a movie on a ten dollar budget that blows most multi mil productions out of the water. allat for 'nowhere near'

Prezon the topic of acceptance speeches - obviously they cut off a lot of ppl last night, which i'm fine with. gotta keep it moving.
i think they just need to be clear on the format. it shouldnt be like theyre talking and they play you off without any warning. there should be a time clock (maybe there is?). if you enter the cut-off time (after your time expires) then you might be cut off and you cant complain about it since u knew it. if u are allotted 40 seconds or whatever, and u are part of a group with multiple people who want to talk, then that first person talking needs to be quick to allow time for the next speaker (e.g. the kpop song winners).
it shouldnt be the wild wild west.

I feel like im only happy for MBJ because he’s black and he a cool kid.
But if I remove all biases, I don’t understand the whole “he might not get another chance”…..I know sports is more objective but in a championship the BEST team/player gets rewarded the trophy. I wish the Oscars was a little more geared around who was the best rather than other factors.
And this is more than just MBJ, Oscars have dropped the ball numerous of times for best picture. In no world was crash and green book the best picture
Nah, I agree 100% with you, I too wish it was that way. Just saying, since that's how it works, I'm glad he's the one that got the win, cause I genuinely like the guy. Have liked him since Fruitvale, so seeing him win warms my heart up a bit.

Lastly though something like literature discourse will never undergo what film is transitioning to rn; complete opposite in that you’re immediately punished for passively engaging with any of it. Another thought I had re:monoculture as a whole

OBAA wasn't even my top 3 of the year FYI @WRU
for 2025 movies? it was in mine because i didnt like much of anything except bugonia and sinners. thunderbolts and tron ares were solid. and some chinese art flick i watched. obaa is one of my favorite pta movies
