I was talking about this last night. My solution is to cut the stupid Conan sketches and writer bits that probably combined to eat up 30 minutes of program time last night and use that time for winners' speeches instead

if u want to cut the sketches like the opening Weapons sketch and the closing OBAA sketch and the part where conan showed what he would do if he won an award (not thanking anyone) then i disagree.

IMO if you take out the entertaining comedy stuff from these shows, they are much less enjoyable for the viewer.

with that said, obviously we can debate the merits of each sketch and bit (a lot of them are duds) but to get rid of all of them is not the answer IMO. i think having comedians host these ceremonies is generally great and should continue to be the standard
