I think best picture should go to producers, writers, directors, AND lead/supporting actors. I think they're the key components. You could argue sound design team/crew as well but eh

I used to think so too but I think it kinda makes the writing/acting categories redundant. Honestly what I would so is, give them to the producers and then give another one to whoever was the most instrumental in making the film a success. Be it an actor/actress, writer, director, cinematographer or even an editor/sound/costume person.

What they should do instead imo is to follow the SAG’s and open up fields for best ensembles, in which case every integral part of a successful film would be rewarded but Ionno. Would bring more viewers I’m sure though

Maybe it doesn't even have to go to the overall best part, like maybe you could do Thomas Newman who's been nominated like 2390429019034 times but has never won an Oscar and (even tho I thought it was kinda awkward at times) people thought it was a very, very strong score.
For Parasite, since Bong is already a producer maybe you could give some shine to the actors, Song Kang-ho for example.
