Margaret Qualley was snubbed for supporting actress. I’m not sure what Villeneuve has to do to get a director nomination, but at least Dune got the Best Picture nod.
It looks like a rough field this year.

What does a sequel that gets relatively the same amount of nominations as the first have to do with Furiosa getting shut out completely?
Fury Road was acknowledged by the academy more than Dune has ever been. There’s no correlation to be made. If anything Fury Road began a trend for movies like Dune to even be recognized. Don’t ever compare that multiple-time adapted story to the original George Miller saga that Mad Max is.
