So how do releases at like Champs and Footlocker and Finishline work now?

I haven’t tried buying anything from them since Champs/FA/FTL used the only reservation system where if you were a VIP and checked in you got a 10 min “headstart”

Each store has their own app and you enter for in store and 'ship to me' options. Can choose up to 3 nearby stores for in store. You add "head starts" (extra entries) to your reservation using points accrued from purchases. You might get lucky and get through the queue on release day but usually it's not even worth trying. Finishline/JD do early access that goes out at 6 am pst a couple of days before releases and those are a little easier to catch if you're ready.
