i think our perception of time and age in the west is stagnant.

v003Living in an era was social media was not a necessity or part of everyday life. Living in a time where the white house wasnt constantly in the news for some bullshit and we were attaining more freedoms not taking them away. Millenials did deal with patriot act s*** but passed bush and 9/11 everything was more optimistic. Even when the 08 crash hit that s*** aint really effect most of us as we were still in school

The things you & @twenty16vibes bring up are differences between the eras but I feel like this zeitgeist should still make up a cultural context for Gen Z/A to explore creatively.

the people who have been able to expand on Travis’ sound is Don Toliver, Trippie Redd and now Rema/Asake to a degree plus more. seems like Tyla is in love with Travis sound
to say Travis is not influential when each of rhese artists and others like Thug, Gunna (HOT), Offset,(shit Migos had a whole run with Travis and Uzi literally credits Travis is the king of his style of rap) have all morphed their sounds after linking with Travis
