Often walk 10+ miles a day, hike often and have flat feet so I've been wanting to add more functional/outdoors stuff in my wardrobe for years so I'm glad that a lot of people are talking about this kind of stuff right now -
i know you have literally everyone asking questions about these but how resistant to staining from mud are they? im thinking of getting some pretty merrells but maybe i should get black ones instead
So how many mountains yβall climbed so far?
10+ but this gotta be 100s, 1000s before I'm done

You're good dawg, I love talking about this stuff + I've learned plenty here (proper put me onto these boots in the first place) and am always asking questions as well.
So I was walking on a rocky beach with this pair and fell in some mud/wet sand. I immediately stuck both boots into the ocean to wash off the mud and it came off immediately. Waterproofing is really good too and had me feeling like I was walking on water until it was too late and I remembered that if water gets deep enough it'll just come in over the top and had to finish that walk with some wet ass socks
This is what they look like now:
Green suede (?, I'm pretty sure might want to confirm that) is still very strong and dirt on the toebox and midsole seems really easy to remove if I wanted to clean em.
I was walking on a different part of the shoreline in my white pair. The sun was rising over the water and I closed my eyes and stretched out my arms and walked towards the water. The sand that the water just retreated from was so smooth and man I was elsewhere off that sunrise so I thought it could hold me up.
Both boots got sucked in DEEP:
I couldn't go into the water immediately because all of the sand was like that so I decided to finish my walk and clean em when I got home.
Sand caked in pretty tough - I washed it off but the suede wasn't butter anymore (seems to be getting better now, @Cody been meaning to ask you but I have this Angelus easy cleaner kit - do you think it would be good for something like this)
Before and After:
Just put nine miles on the white ones earlier and I thought they looked great, lighting in the after pics has em looking darker than they are
I think the blacked out sole really helps these take damage well and would be easy to fully restore with some cleaning. I'm not sure why imgur warped the after pics but you can see the difference in the suede in the bottom after pic.
I'm going to give the suede/soles some love from time to time but hiking boots are the ultimate wear your kicks/beat em up shoes so I'm not stressing it (might have a beater pair for the harshest stuff but besides that these should get the work they're built for).

omg thank you vox this is so much help
looks like they are super resistant! i am rly reassured by this. not like i'm looking to stomp in mud on purpose but it's unavoidable.

Salomon is AIDS
Snow Peak is where it's at
What do these brands even have in common??
What do these brands even have in common??
Both brand names start w the letter βSβ
not even gonna lie for the longest time I thought Salomon only made aggressive inline rollerblades until the shoe trend popped off 2-3 years ago.
