He’s been sitting at #2 because he doesn’t make easily digestible music. There was a time it felt like he was gonna be that guy but he swerved and made tpab.
"he doesn’t make easily digestible music."
Neither did Nas DMX and a bunch of others and they were top dog at one point
I really be thinking Synopsis really jaylen brown if jaylen brown was ktt poster that would be it
I’m sure jaylen is on here somewhere or at least was the man stans ye
Reminder that Drake has written entire songs for Jamie Foxx, Beyoncè, Lil Wayne, Rita Ora and Alicia Keys, to make a few.

"Drake has no classics"

(They’re all hits too besides the Rita Ora one)
No
I brought up a album cut song that has no business being 3x platinum but based on shear relatability and great songwriting, it got there
album cut?
it was the lead f***ing single.
So was J Cole is trash. But you cole fans ignore that
that meme was never near as big as the wale is trash era lmao stop it you werent even old enough to experience that era. Wale always been overlooked past 2010. J Cole has never been overlooked
Man just called drake the least relatable
Im out
we live in a generation of
not bein in love
n not bein together
Man, right into the hearts of teenagers
Ain't Drake a hoe? This man does not have girl issues except for Rihanna

People still listening to an album 10 years later. What does that day to you?
Drake rose to prominence in an era when being an MC wasn't valued like it once was, and he definitely holds his own against the Gunnas and Navs of the world. I don't think his writing or delivery is as engaging in 2020 as Danny Brown, Kendrick, Freddie Gibbs, etc. but he's better than a lot of his competition today.
Back when standout production was harder to secure, when all rappers really had was their words and mic skills, MCs above Drake's level were much more common. Biggie, Pac, Jay, Nas, Black Thought, O.C., Big L, Scarface, Raekwon, Ice Cube, Kool Keith, the list goes on. Phenomenal rappers and writers. Maybe their beats don't hold up for you, but from a technical perspective these were excellent MCs and storytellers that could compete with anyone.
So I respect Drake but can't really put him top 10 ever for standing out in his time. There are just so many other greats in this area.

Even that song was a minor hit. Un-thinkable, Mine, I'm Ready, I'm Single and Fall For Your Type all came from that Drizzy pen. That's a part of his artistry that people conveniently love to ignore.

says nothing ppl been listening to all of post malone albums since they dropped
so 7 pages and all mfs do is spit out insane takes like
"i dont relate to drake"
"his music is fake"
"kendrick this kendrick that"
You niggas cant formulate your own takes and it shows
"he doesn’t make easily digestible music."
Neither did Nas DMX and a bunch of others and they were top dog at one point
we’re in a different era though those types don’t get to the level Kendrick gets to today.
Just look at the landscape in hip hop today and tell me who will reach those heights making the same music

Let's see if they're around a decade from now

Shhh he only writes Instagram captions
It doesn’t fit the narrative
And it wasn’t supposed to be

But it was. Stop shifting goal posts. It was a single, not some random song on the album. And your criteria is flawed anyway. Platinum status in no way = relatability.
