it's a mixed bag for me, there are moments of brilliance and interesting ideas scattered throughout but it all falls flat in the grand scheme of things... I really wanted to love this but it's extremely cluttered and overly ambitious without offering enough interesting moments to be deserving of such high praise... conceptually it's a f***ing mess, the pacing is awful, some songs take way too long to pick up with exceedingly dull sections that go absolutely nowhere and aren't as captivating as they thought they'd be, ascending forth is probably the worst song on the album, s*** seriously overstays its welcome with how drawn out and repetitive it is

it's not a bad album, first half is much better than the second but they shoot themselves in the foot way too often... I feel like they're a band with loads of potential but it ultimately amounts to nothing because they're too inconsistent

just my opinion tho, I'm glad you enjoyed it 🧐

I actually agree with most of what you said those are the same issues i have with the album but maybe to a lesser extent.

They explore a lot of different sounds and ideas but ultimately it feels like one big song at times. With that said, they perfectly catch the right vibe with songs like John L, Slow, Diamond Stuff and Hogwash and Balderdash(amazing). Ascending Forth has some moments too but the vocals actually don't work very well for this one

Overall it's cool imo but no Schlagenheim, where nearly every song is filled with excitment and chaotic energy. Some songs could've been cut short, i kinda agree

I came itt fully prepared to call @op overrated but before posting I stopped and decided to listen to this song and god damn, I love it.

Haven't come back to this album since the first two weeks of release @aLIEN was right.

Slow is still a masterpiece obviously
