You excited it’s gonna be Losses vibes?
100% introspective reflective drake always brings top tier tracks
Losses is the one track that people seem to like but I just don't get. Kinda mid, kinda boring performance but with some good introspective lines
thank me later turns 10 in june could drop around then
damn that would be legs

Well the way he is talking seems like he has a bunch of songs like Losses on the album so I'm guessing Losses is probably the worst out of the bunch so he just stuck it on this tape.

is Drake ever not in a reflective mood?

True he is usually in that type of state but I'm assuming he means more heavily on the introspective, conversational "stream of conscience" style he has on songs like Losses but hopefully it's on another level than this like a Club Paradise or 30 For 30 Freestyle.

are you invested in the story of Drake? those introspective songs are like new episodes of the Drake show

Seasons go by like we binge watching
thoughts?
Bro I think this has a chance to rival the vibe of NWTS. I’m not saying it’ll be as good, but I think it can have a really thematic, serious tone and I’m all for it.

Good Sign. Losses is undeniable fire and classic but updated Drizzy. I’m expecting some s*** since he hasn’t dropped a lot of music in the past two years. There has to be a lot to talk about at his stage in his career and personal life. I’m sure his kid has already inspired some incredible music.
really dont want this to become Scorpion 2. we had enough reflections on songs like emotionless and march 14 sprinkled in between bangers like gods plan and nonstop. what do u guys think?
what gets me hype is that toosie slide and demons are not on the album, which means he's saving songs that are gonna go off even harder

Lol no we didn’t. He has a whole two year old son. March 14 was a beautiful song and he needs more of that on his next s***. He is at his best when he’s in his introspective bag.

absolutely, but this was the least energetic of the bunch for me.

At least one of the songs took shape in a boot camp of sorts. Producer Foregin Teck tells Complex that back in January 2019, Drake had “about 10 producers” working in a secluded house in Los Angeles for about three weeks. Teck remembers himself, “Toosie Slide” beatmaker OZ, Sevn Thomas, Boi-1da, DRTWRK, Audi, Vinylz, and Jahaan Sweet. Out of those sessions came the Rick Ross and Drizzy duet “Gold Roses,” as well as Dark Lane standout “Losses.” In fact, it was “Gold Roses” that set the tone for the sessions.
“In the beginning, he kind of let us do our thing,” Teck tells us when Complex catches up with him just minutes after Dark Lane’s release. “And then, I remember the ‘Gold Roses’ beat was made, and he's like, ‘Yo, I need more s*** like this.’ Once he started hearing the slow beats, very simple, with vocal chops, that caught his ear.”

we getting a lot of Losses, Gold Roses type records on this album
in the RapRadar interview he said Gold Roses was one of the verses he's most proud of too
Damn losses might be my least favorite track on this jawn and I know I’m in the minority on that so idk
If this is better than Scorpion
Side A might be the most underrated Drake project
