Hughes was one of Chris Cornell's biggest influence vocally. You see the blueprint below.

He almost killed himself from d****. Blood coming out of his mouth when he did the partial sabbath tour.
Hughes was in this band "Trapeze" this was one of Bonham's favorite's. And Glenn and John were best of friends.
After Trapeze, Hughes joined Deep Purple & helped create such classics like "Burn"
Then in 1992 he did the greatest turn around in history after going to rehab. Didn't lose one octave
