What do you guys think of the possibility of a federation of Arab states? Like an instated one, not something like modern trade organizations. Akin to the U.S. or USSR in terms of government.

A Pan-Arab state is much more likely to happen in the next few centuries than you think. Granted, the biggest hurdle is outside intervention.

Also, Pan-Arabism tends to mean a unified, one state. Pan-Africanism tends to talk about a general strong cooperation between all African nations.

A singular Pan-African state will probably never happen due to incredibly diverse cultures, religions, languages, and ideologies in Africa, but that isn't really an issue in Arab nations.

a coalition of Iran, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Egypt alone would be one of the most heavily armed and most populated political blocs in the world

Gaddhafi was a dedicated third-way-socialist Pan-Arabist before the 80's when he became far more involved in Pan-Africanism

I love this sentiment but Iran & Saudi Arabia at the same table? I’d love to see it, but don’t both they tensions damn near go back 1400 years to the slayings of the Prophet’s nephews?

    well yeah

but idk 🤷🏽 can’t be that hard to realize both are entrenched in their own religious views so bickering is irrelevant

I’m a big fan of ideologies which developed related to or derivative of pan-Arabism but being completely frank it’s a failed ideology by itself. I don’t mean this as an insult to any nations or leaders, just that in practicality the ideology got screwed.

Arabs are incredibly bigoted to each other’s different nationalities. Thats atleast in my experience with my Jordanian/Syrian family that has Lebanese and Egyptians also in it.

Khaleejis look at Levantine Arabs very differently and vice versa. Within North Africa they have their own identity splits between those who want to preserve their roots and be Berber versus those who want to embrace being Arab.

The only real tangible things that can reliably group Arabs have been tribes. They became of less importance when the Europeans set up their own borders.

Arab culture values brotherhood, loyalty, and community heavily. I don’t know how any major modern Arab leader can claim to represent these values when they let the west rape their countries.

You have young Syrian and Iraqi refugees trapped abroad in Europe prostituting themselves and living on the streets. Meanwhile countries like the UAE and Saudi continue to let this happen and let their people suffer and disgrace themselves.

In the case of Saudis they're almost directly responsible for the wars and worsening the situation/instability.

Arab leadership in a cultural sense is a failure. Pan Arab movement has long been dead and probably will always be unless it comes back as a populist leaders tool.

Also this though, all my Saudi friends are literally racist to Arabs from other countries they literally scoff at North Africans and say they aren’t “real Arabs”, or wtv the f*** that means

But I know it comes from a place of bigotry and superiority complexes. One Saudi friend even joked at me saying “I’m not a real Muslim” because I’m not Saudi, but he tried hiding that s*** behind laughter. I had to remind him if it wasn’t for my country & it’s people, EVERY MF ON THE BLOCK, INCLUDING IRAN, WOULD HAVE A PIECE OF HIS COUNTRY’S CANDY ASS.

Then he gave me the classic “brother, habibi, it is yanni, u know, a joke hahaha”

We’re muslims from the mountains, not desert. we can’t take jokes

So many times just on the internet I've had Saudis say racist s*** to me. The superiority complex is a real thing with them.

Can't wait to watch tge regime fumble and fail balancing Islam and Capitalism. Theyre seriously in need of a wake up call.

Honestly, I might be alone in this, but Medina and Mecca should not even be under political jurisprudence. They should be free cities a la the Vatican City.

But that's just me. I don't like that the Saudi's have so much power from having these holy cities in control.

    It’s a f***ing disgrace.

Don’t really understand Saudi’s pride on the religious front. Prophets were only sent to troubled groups of people.

And the greatest prophet… well you know wtf I’m tryna say.

that’s so true though, most of the strongest Muslim countries don’t even speak the same language.

KSA - Arabic (Egypt would match however)
    Iran - Farsi
    Pakistan - Urdu/Punjabi/Pashto
    Turkey - Turkish
and don’t even get me started on the Russian republics
