No I definitely got that, I just never looked at Miles Teller character as “successful”

But now that you point out La La Land, Miles character did dump his GF for “success”

    sure did!

Do you like when directors carry out the same themes in their movies?

Obviously the first 2 films is easy to point out because they both are Jazz related.

But as you pointed out, there’s a similar theme running through each film

I like it but I could also see how it can be seen as repetitive if there isn't enough variety to it.

like Nolan's films all seem to surround themes about time but no one would say any of his films are alike. same with chazelle so far but idk it could be possible that this is more similar to First Man since it's a biopic.

If i was a director, I'd be more like Park Chan Wook and do a trilogy of films that have a theme but aren't related than just making it a my whole brand.

Word word that would be dope.

I’d say someone like Soderbergh is good at doing different s*** each time. But he also doesn’t write these films so he might not be attached to telling a particular story like writers are.

Whereas someone like Tarantino films always revolve around revenge

i really like and respect guys like Soderbergh who really aren't afraid of trying different things. like he's a crime thriller guy at heart but he's really made every type of movie which i think is dope.

    Production Weekly update:

    • The film is called “Evel Knievel on Tour,”

    • Starring Leonardo DiCapiro

    • Written by William Monahan (“The Departed”) and Terrence Winter (“The Wolf of Wall Street,” “The Sopranos”)

    • The story is set in a single year, 1974, and tackles Knievel’s ambitious planning to jump across Idaho’s Snake River on his motorcycle.

kinda wish he just did his prison movie tbh.

  • humey

I like the writers. But they’re biggest hits was because Scorsese brought them to life.

Terrence Winter most recently wrote Bob Marley One Love and William Monahan most recently wrote Liam Neeson's Marlowe. Bob Marley film is decent and I havent seen Marlowe but heard it's bad

  • Ye did it first

  • Chazelle fam we have never been more back
