If y'all think that this is a full on pro-socialist/anti-capitalist movie I think y'all are kinda missing the mark.
It's a nuanced portrait of 2 classes that doesn't absolve any of the sides in the movie. Both have parasitic tendencies, the poor one being fairly obvious in the movie, while the rich are accused of leeching off of the work of the poor, incapable to do even the easiest of tasks, like making a simple meal for your kid after a disastrous birthday trip.
I wouldn't say that any of the sides are pictured in a better way in the movie tho - the whole point of the movie, IMO, is to show the corruption of our societal morality that has happened on both sides of the divide, a divide that is more present today than ever.
The whole movie kinda shines a light on how f***ed we are today, at least that's my interpretation.
I'm not really versed in Korean culture/society/history so I could be completely off base here, but that's my take.

It's clearly an anti-capitalist movie. It's meant to highlight what capitalism creates...a classist society full of parasites that creates more parasites. The rich family are by default..the parasites...living their high class lifestyle at the expense of working poor. The working poor conditions are so unfavorable, they then decide to literally live in and "leech" off the rich family becoming parasites themselves.

Then becoming parasites on classes worser off than them because they don't want to lose that glimpse of control they have
This idiot is nothing but a xenophobic crusty nerd. He is seriously acting like a child. Parasite won because it’s an amazing movie. It’s not unfair. Not surprised how triggered comic book nerds can get to the point where they show their ignorance.

I just don’t understand why he felt the need to try to do what he was going to do with the Stone
And everything following it is dead ass just like a Shakespeare moment

Watch any other bong joon ho movie and I promise you won't have this dumb take

The movie is obviously pro socialist but cmon all three families are parasites that’s the joke. The ill is f***ing capitalism and occidental cultural hegemony. Each family is stuck in the wheel of capitalism it isn’t as simple as the Park family is to blame. I mean thats what the wake of the climax is about.
This was a great movie, but it's definetely not the first time a movie changes tone and story mid way through. That's getting a little overhyped but love the movie

Facts this a really good movie but after all this hype I expected something more
Pretty boring watch overall. Stunning cinematography tho but it’s pretty predictable
Honestly kinda blows my mind how people faun over movies with such obvious themes like this one as if it’s saying something so deep or profound.

It's because it falls in the realm of being more intelligent and deep than a usual popular movie, but not too intelligent or deep where casuals can't understand it. I don't think it's Bong's goal either to be this overly complex director, but I'm sure he's not complaining.
It's really not that complicated or mind bending, but it's a really good movie nonetheless and I like the themes personally.

Some of the most profound things in the world are obvious.
And aren't you the guy who said evolution is made up by the mainstream media?

Aren’t you that guy who be on my d*** more than these hoes?
Great movie but definitely a little overhyped at this point. People don't know how to praise without hyperbole anymore so it's to be expected.
you watch any koreeda?
