Oh my god

Saw this months ago never got the hype... a movie for rich people to feel, at best, sorry for all those poor people (they’re just like me); while simultaneously validating their status.

This is a quieter version of ‘Snowpiercer’; the heroic tale of a group of poor people discovering that they actually do owe their lives to the 1%.

What part of that don't you understand?

its more complicated than that and requires understanding korean history on a basic level

I know more about Korean history than the average Korean living in the diaspora.

I'm not surprised that it appealed so deeply to The Oscar Committee. It’s a blatantly pro-classism film that you can’t get away with making in Europe or America, veiled in just enough weirdness to look like irony if you don’t think about it too long.
