So many little things, the obvious take on classism and the social heirarchy but then small things like the child paiting the guy from the basement, the scene where the rich dad looks out the window when the wife fires the housekeeper there's a literal line that divides them in the mirror. I like how it became less of a rich vs poor situation and rather a famine mentality and a play on the power dynamic amongst the classes. Even when the Kim's had the chance to help the basement people they were scared of losing what they had or letting other people take part of it and as soon as the basement people had that leverage they tormented the family and used that power to their benefit. Even with the Kim's they get 2 people fired and there's a scene of them trying to convince themselves that they got better jobs later showing how easy it is to ignore problems of less fortunate through delusion, it wasn't just the rich who did it. The rich family isn't painted as evil either, just unintentionally ignorant but that same ignorance is shared by the Kim's toward the basement people. The use of stairs to signify the social heirarchy but something as little as having the toilet be the most elevated thing in all the semi basement scenes was a nice touch. They frame the movie in a way that we can't tell who's the parasite here, the rich family relies on the poor families to get basically everything done in the house, the wife has almost no skills so they hire people for everything and the obvious poor families stealing. I love how the rock was used to show false hope too. I could go on a bigger rant about the movie and little things but it's an insane film !

Yup 100% fam. This film really is world class, just from a surface level casual standpoint it’s a highly enjoyable film. But when you dive deep and break down the layers and details it becomes so much more
As many times as I've rewatched this, I could watch without subs and know the dialogue.

FACTS
Gives the film a different mood
Worth watching at least once
Is the B&W version a different cut or exactly the same film/length but just monochromatic??
After so long finally sat down and watched this
Loved the movie and the cinematography my only complaint was the ending. They should’ve ended it after the son realized that the lights were spelling son
