It is so interesting how mystic works. For some artists like Kendrick and H.E.R. it works great and for other it doesnt and they feel underappreciated.

I was just thinking about that. In general it’s a very hard thing to accomplish. Being heralded for simply your music without doing the marketing/interviews/showmanship aspect. Either the music has to be DAMN good (ie Björk, Frank Ocean, Thom Yorke) or it was your ascetic from the beginning and the fans understand. Therefore either PARTY’s music was never at that caliber for his elusiveness to work or the fans never really wanted it from the beginning

Jacques and Usher both somehow got nominated over PND... They haven’t done anything noteworthy this year

PND’s pen has always been better than PND the actual artist imo. There are so many songs I hear from him that I am most certain would be hits (or way bigger) if he gave them away. I didn’t enjoy this last album as much as his previous ones but I do get his frustrations though.
