Damn fr? Did you like Paul’s last two?
Didn’t like Card Counter too much
This is similar to First Reformed which I did like, but way too flawed for any praise of mine
this is lowkey Schrader's most wholesome movie
yeah if you’re some white basement dweller
this was very Gran Torino like in terms of like social tone to me idk, I didn’t hate it though
I understand all the criticism this movie has received, yet I still enjoyed it. I was exactly the type of film I needed right now. I like Edgerton and I feel after all the darkness in First Reformed and Card Counter this was a nice end to his trilogy.
Movie probably won’t win any major awards but it’s deserves to be seen.
What the hell happened here
This was weak
Obvious metaphors
Underdeveloped characters
And we've seen it all before
Watch American History X instead

It's got the same awkward corniness as that movie
This was hard as s*** honestly. Interesting that this ended up being the most hopeful of the 3
@op you know about Schrader’s next one?

Say it ain’t so
Schrader’s ”Oh, Canada” will be an adaptation of his late friend Russell Banks’ 2021 novel “Foregone.” The parallels between the main protagonist’s life and Schrader’s own cannot be denied. This is said to be a very grim novel about a dying artist who comes to terms with his own life.
Damn
