Killers of the flower moon is still my top Leo performance of the 2020s so far but he’s good as usual in this. Soooo funny.

Mmm I would. The mother/“never cursed” in PT and I find IV to be operating the most on a ponderous/searching tone but I feel you. Desperately need to rewatch that one.

Her performance is so strong that you spend the entire movie thinking about her and wondering when she’ll pop back up
I would be shocked if she doesn’t get Oscar-nominated for this performance
I think every single major role in this may get nominated: Leo, Chase, Teyana, Benicio, Regina, and Sean
Idk what the record is for most acting noms from the same movie but I think this film is gonna break it if it’s less than 5-6

i can’t totally decide what I think about this though. Her character is interesting and I think quite complicated. But I think that line where she says “this p\*\*\*\* is for war” is really important. And the way all her sexual encounters with Lockjaw she was completely dominating him. Like I don’t think she was h\*\*\*\* for lockjaw per se, but I think the idea that she could sexually dominate the enemy / infiltrate the enemy through sexual means was enticing to her.

Yea I think this goes back to what @twitch is saying. She’s a thrill seeker and adrenaline junky. Not that that means she also wasn’t interested in revolution but she had to ALWAYS be on the move. Staying still was not an option for her.

very very interesting that both lockjaw and Perfidia were basically exploiting the other at the exact same time in a way where they both felt like they were the ones in control. For her, she felt like she was sexual dominating and controlling and think to a degree making a fool of this guy. For him, he felt like he was controlling this black women that he hates but fetishized (which he thinks is love)
