if you can't engage in actual conversations about a film and it's intentions then simply don't comment at all.
You're Black and here you are disregarding all of the criticisms by Black folks towards the film as simply twitter talk & mental illness when most of it sound.
None of my critiques are coming from a place of hate or wanting to tear down One Battle After Another.

LouThe editing and cinematography of the car chase was immaculate. Almost felt like something out of the silent film era or something
The dips up and down the hills||, the shot when Leo’s car appears behind the chase already happening (just a goofy wild goose chase laugh moment, but also an “oh s\*\*\* but f\*\*\* yeah”, then the cuts between the shots of the drivers right before it ends. Just so much fun
damn you hit the nail w that description. I could see someone like Hitchcock doing that scene as well

maybe Taylor drew inspiration from her, but aside from being a black female revolutionary, how are they similar? they had different causes, storylines, and eras
Perfidia was based on the character Frenesi from Pynchon's Vineland. that character was white but also highly sexualized and used her sexuality as a weapon the same way we saw in OBAA

Been a very well-rounded year in my opinion.

my bad, I thought you were throwing indirect shots when we should all be able to have a polite discussion about the film.
I also really liked it lol I'm conflicted about it overall but still enjoyed it. it was really refreshing to see gen z portrayed in a more hopeful and empathetic light in a political satire for once.

seen it 2x in 3 days and my head is still spinning. i was caught in the spectacle the first time and am just now starting to be able to digest so much s*** that didn't hit me on then. i'll no doubt be hopping into the convos like this soon, still digesting.
movie definitely had a lot to say; i hope to have something to add soon.

If the film just had a black fetishist white supremacist it would be a lot cleaner (not in a good or interesting way). the fact Teyana engages sexually with him is so messy, layered, icky and interesting from a writing perspective that i'm not surprised theres a lot of people talking about it.

i showed my dad how to pirate movies on the firestick tv a few months ago
and when we got back from watching this, he put the film on and watched it all again on camrip at home. this movie is a classic
