What’s a good quality cooling pad for a gaming laptop? One that is preferably less than $50 but won’t break.

The last time I used a cooling pad for a laptop years ago it was trash.

My laptop was running fine but today while playing Valorant it start getting warm and the fan is noisy. Any recommendations to fix other than a cooling pad?

Just got a pair of the Corsair Virtuoso and they’ve been great so far.

Cooling pads don’t work save your money just elevate the laptop so it can have the needed airflow

gta v came out my first in year in college and I was too busy with school at the time. only picked it up on ps4 earlier this year and it felt outdated by time I started playing it so only played a few missions before losing interest

now I’m playing it on pc after egs giveaway and it’s like night and day, game looks great by comparison on max settings.

I can finally enjoy gta v now

think I’m gonna have to pick up rdr2 on pc now too. Had some of the same issues with it on ps4 and bet it looks and plays a lot better on pc.

finally upgraded to a 1440p 144hz monitor

You are very knowledgeable so I trust you but a lot of videos/google searches tell me they do work. Why do you think cooling pads don't work? How do I elevate my laptop in a way it would stay in one place without affecting my gaming performance? If a laptop gets warm but never overheats, is it doing damage to itself?

Ok its a case by case basis they wont make a big enough difference for what they cost, i would get a laptop stand that elevated the laptop and allowed proper airflow.

No laptops are designed with thermals in mind you should be fine with a warm machine that doesn’t overheat
