What’re the most important things to keep in mind when building a gaming pc? Specifically the cooling and or processor/ram to graphics cards ratio

What resolution and frame rate you plan on playing at
For cooling you should be good with a $30-40 air cooler for any AMD CPU other than maybe the 5900x or 5950x. For the higher core Intel ones you might want to get an AIO.
Pretty much any modern GPU is fine with the stock cooler.
RAM is pretty simple. Go for a 16 GB kit of 3600 MHz CL 16 or CL 18. Some good ones are G Skill Ripjaws V and Crucial Ballistix.

pretyy much exactly this. When building a pc it's important to build around your monitor. The sweet spot rn is 1440p 144hz with a 3060ti/3070 if you can find one of those rn.
question would it be better if i bought a pre built im way to dumb to build my own or do i just do a bunch of research and tutorials and build my own

In these days and times, prebuilts are the way to go to get a 30 series card

Damn. My prebuilt came with a AMD 5600x/nzxt kraken m22. Should I swap that with an air cooler? Thinking about a Noctua NH-U12A or Cooler Master Hyper 212 right now.

120mm aios aren’t that bad and IMO not worth swapping for an air cooler. How hot does your cpu get in idle and under load? I wouldn’t bother swapping it out if it never goes above 75 degrees.

I mean if you already got it you might as well use it. I'm not too familiar with AIOs but that one should be fine. It actually prolly runs cooler and quieter than an air cooler.
Only reason I suggested an air cooler is cause AIOs are like twice the price and not really necessary for most CPUs.

I don’t know about idle temps, but when I check the temps while watching videos or just browser use, it’s around 45-48 degrees. And it’s usually between 70 and 80 degrees while gaming. AMD says it can handle temps up to 95 degrees.

I was thinking you said that because air would be better at cooling

Hard to say nowadays since I haven't been keeping up with it like I used to. Also it depends on what you will use it for
I'd keep my eyes peeled on reddit.com/r/buildapcsales/
They usually have some kind of deal on atleast 1 decent pre built deal every week

Probably sold out by the time you read this but buildredux.com/pages/build-your-pc
They currently have 3080's in stock to build PC's and they only add on a $75 fee to build it. And you can even customize some of your specs.
I was even thinking about just buying it for the 3080 and selling the other parts cause my brother needs a GPU now.

so i knew zero ab builds before this summer. Watched two tutorials then just went at it. It's actually really simple

thats what i heard
some stuff is so pricey since scalpers that’s the only reason i’m considering a prebuilt
Got a 3080 FE in my cart at Best Buy
None available to pick up within 250 miles
When will my pain be over
