Yeah should be fine, 'garbage' is probably me just over exaggerating it. I have a 3600 and I haven't had any issues so far. I'm just looking for excuses to spend money on a 5600x lol

Resetting any monitor setting in whatever settings manager u use

just picked up a r7 5800, rtx 3070, 17inch 144hz laptop with 16gbs of ram and 1tb ssd. comes with access to the ram and ssd so i can upgrade too. s*** was on sale for like $1479. seemed like a good buy lol

those specs are nice, careful with the thermals though. laptops that pack that much power have a tendency to overheat, especially if they tried to make them thinner

Finally upgraded my ram from 8GB to 16GB

Been stuck on 8 since like 2016 when I first got my PC

Last time I updated my CPU and GPU I had a local store do it so I was a bit nervous to change my ram myself but it was actually super easy.

You a trooper for surging with 8gb that long with programs like Chrome eating up memory like it’s nothing.

It actually wasn't too bad, I've only noticed a significant slow down in the last year or so. But I've mainly been playing games that have pretty low system requirements (League, Overwatch, Fortnite, DS3, Skyrim, DOS2, Mount and Blade Warband, Rimworld, etc) so 8GB was fine and I rarely had chrome open while playing them other than for League.

But I just started playing Horizon Zero Dawn and I've noticed it being sluggish at times even when it's the only thing running. With GOW, Halo, Forza Horizon 5 and Elden Ring all coming out soon I figured it was time to finally upgrade.
