Been revisiting a lot of 90's southern rap lately, can't say it was my favourite genre back in the day, I've always been one for my 90's East coast, with some West Coast thrown in, but tbf a lot of the Southern s*** has aged really well. Don't get me wrong I've always enjoyed UGK, Geto Boys and a few others, but acts I've listened to in the past but never fully appreciated are clicking a lot more such as 8Ball and MJG and a lot of the pre-Carter Cash Money and some No Limit stuff I haven't been back to in years.
Anyway the point of this thread is the artwork of that era, I always liked the No Limit Packaging until they absolutely flooded the market, but looking back at the absurd covers, there are so many iconic ones, some terrible, some beautiful, some instantly recognisable. Pen and Pixel were the southern artists cover designers of choice (and also some west coast artists like E-40 and Yukmouth).
Here are some of my favourites (some I've edited from posters):
These type of album covers are some of the heavy doses of nostalgia. Reminds me of Windows 95 type days
Side note: has anyone actually heard the Big Bear album that pops up in every terrible cover thread?

it's a solid abum
original pen and pixel designed cover
final touched up version
OG one got more of that vintage, raw P&P vibe but final looks really clean while staying true to the concept so I fw both equally tbh
