like obviously they got influences like chad and pharrell, lil b, DOOM, but when they broke out with the aesthetics of the upside down crosses, crazy f***ing lyrics, and hyperness, there was no one like them and really hasn't been to that degree. i think their group and that time period will continue to be a big mark in hip hop history as a unique cultural moment that had not been seen and opened the creative eyes/inspiration of what hip hop could be.
On top of that, their diy approach marked a shift in music and one of the main reasons hip hop is on top rn
