Vividly remember people calling Z trash back on KTT1 and now she's a critic/KTT2 darling

I found her in 2014 & she left a remarkable mark on my preteen-early-teen consciousness
Real ones know that she was a reject until the label self perpetuated the “label holding a black woman down” card on 2015 Twitter

Z was incredible…
I remember niggas saying Z was too weird
to be fair it was not for mainstream consumption, she was just making whatever she wanted
i checked it out bc it had a Chance feature and ended up really loving the whole project
but i can't discredit people who didn't give SZA a good listen back then, the songs she was making were just not for everyone
First SZA song I ever heard was this
It was on her S EP and I won't lie...it was pretty ass overall lol Z was much more refined and the songs had actual structure. It was basically a better S, but there were tracks on Z that gave a strong sense that she was gonna be making music more palpable for the general audience
damn i remember listening to teen spirit when it first dropped
im old as f***
I was putting girls at school on to Sza an Jhene Aiko back in that era mane where the time go
Been there since she got signed in 2013 and I thought of her as Jhene Aiko lite at the time and it's crazy to see where she is now 10 years later and how she is one of my favourite artists now
Always thought Z was decent but CTRL was just such a huge step up
