look, Ed Sheeran could have gone his entire life without speaking about Palestine and been completely fine as far as money and fans go. the reason he got f***ed is that he (or more likely someone on his team) chose Macklemore to open for him and then got weird about Macklemore doing the same activism he has been doing for years during his performance. so then he has to pick a side on behalf of his team who arranged this. money, or morals. he chose money. they all choose money. he's such a big artist and has so many obligations to evil companies that he does not want to bite the hand that feeds. a lot of people just genuinely don't get asked about important issues. but if you have a tour with somebody who is pro Palestine, you better expect to be asked and if you have a s*** answer, you get s*** on. my point is that this is all self inflicted and if his management did a tiny bit of research beforehand, they should have been able to see this coming
