I don’t wear band shirts of bands I don’t listen to but somebody asked me about my sweatshirt once which was apparently a Harry Potter reference and I didn’t know that? I just thought the shirt looked nice? So I get why people wear band shirts without knowing the band, I agree it’s confusing tho
