Like, my vro, I've met some GREAT people all because I decided to say hi. I've gotten things for free/discounts/good advice because I made conversation with someone. Don't block your blessings saying you don't like people bro. I'm actually shy and I have an rbf(resting b face) I force myself to at least smirk, I may not smile off rip but it feels so nice when you're walking down the aisle and a person changes their facial expression all because you decided to say hello and smile.

Don't get me wrong, there's good and there's bad. There are gonna be folks out here who you aren't compatible with, folks who won't understand you. but Im naturally on chill mode. Im naturally not the crowd type by first choice. I'll hang out with people but I have to prepare myself and give it a long thought. But I can't adopt the title "antisocial"

let's be good to each other

Yeah, you can get pretty far just being nice and striking up random conversations with people. I’ve gotten into s*** for free, gotten gifts, etc.

i find that brief conversations with store owners/workers and older people to be way easier and more fun than talking to friends and having meaningful conversation

plus being a known regular customer at a community spot is an amazing feeling

  • Jul 16, 2020

    they shouldn't be synonymous

It's cool until they start judging you condescendingly. Then, again, they're probably not worth the time or the effort if they do.

Then I just stop talking lol, it’s pretty low commitment to just be friendly to someone

I feel like my biggest flaw is that I am insanely scared to talk to people. I overthink every interaction.

It’s ok bro. I sometimes overthink it too. I give myself the 5 second rule, if you see someone or something you want to do, you have 5 seconds to do it and just go for it

View yourself as if the world would love to get to know you. You’d make the world a better place one piece at a time if you said hi or talked to someone you saw. You can make each other’s day

While that would be nice, you never know what someone is going through behind the scenes. It’s never as easy as telling someone “Stop being a mean piece of s***

They could be on that road already so just let them be and move on to someone who doesn’t disrupt your energy.

Unless of course you or someone else is directly targeted

I cant speak for situational attitudes but I’m just talking in general for people who actively say that they don’t like people. It’s not the type of energy that people should put into the world. If that’s how they feel , fine but I disagree with them actually saying that.

As for people who are dealing with personal situations, I’m not saying that anyone should force themselves to be bubbly or whatever. But how hard can it be to be polite especially if someone’s approaching you nicely? Last time I checked when I was dealing with bullshit it always made my day when the simplest things like the cashier smiling at me or someone in public was being cool

    I’m not accepting that fam.

"Introvert" is one of those buzz words people discovered in high school and just ran with it. They treat it like it absolves them of being a s----y person, takes away from people who actually have to deal with that kind of social anxiety. Or whatever you wanna label it as.
