Has to be the most invalid rebuttal ever. Even if you get expensive equipment, something that’s poorly mixed will sound better, but music that’s better mixed to begin with is still going to sound better on the same equipment

everything comes down to if the music's good.

people have sustained long lasting careers off being mixed like s***.

as an engineer, you do want to make sure you're mixing with the idea of what the lowest common denominators will be listening to the music on. The average bear aint listening with sennheiser HD 280s lol

mixedbyali says mixing on bad speakers helps

some music is mixed specifically for bluetooth speakers and laptop speakers, some is mixed with headphones and soundsystems that can produce BASS in mind

Stg the biggest artists just use Mike Dean for name clout at this point. He’s fallen OFF.

Same with Eddie Sancho for the underground rap scene

    Nah you right lol

My point is that no matter how good or bad your audio equipment is, better mixed/mastered music is always going to sound superior, so there’s zero point in saying that someone should get better equipment if they don’t like the mixing on something

This. I mix my own s*** (poorly, lol) and before I finalize a mix I make sure that everything is at least DECENT on my laptop speakers and what I call the “shitty headphones.”
You want to touch as many people as possible with your music; leaving out those with lesser listening devices would take out a bunch of potential fans.
