Sometimes when I’m on Spotify I want to check out an artist, but I can’t tell what type of music they make, so I go to their bio to see if I’m in the mood for them right now and the most irritating s*** imaginable to me is when the bio is like
“artist’s name is a flowering fountain of fun and creativity that revolutionized music with their eclectic and unique tastes and influences. They won a bunch of awards, and they were on the radio before. It’s like so crazy. Listen to them, the greatest human being ever born”
It sounds like the artist wrote it themselves and it gives me no idea of what they actually sound like.
Even worse (somehow) is when it’s someone I’ve never heard of and the bio is just
“you know me 🐉🔥⚡️💯”
Like thanks for absolutely nothing. Just don’t have a bio at that point. You should be banned from the platform if you have a bio like that and under 1 million monthly listeners.
I’m kinda playing it up for entertainment value, but it is really frustrating and makes me instantly lose interest.
Artists: please, just include what kind of music you make and what artists you could be compared to in your bio. That’s all you need.
