He didn’t need a project so early. He is signed to def jam so I’m not too sure who is really pulling the strings. He has potential and there is a lot of great aspects to what he is doing but he isn’t quite there yet.
Kendrick shouldn’t let his signees drop full length projects so early that’s why some of the ideas feel incomplete yet show good potential melodic blue had that same issue

I’m not mad you feel this way about TMB but it didn’t have this issue. Those songs were very much fleshed out.
pgLang is 0 for 1 with that Keem debut, tried to turn him into a Reddit rapper
keem album was good tho. had a couples misses but overall it was a solid debut.
his next album could be the one imo

The songs that were great were GREAT don’t get me wrong but as an overall project it kinda left a lot to be desired execution wise I mean there’s some ambitious ideas on the record that he couldn’t properly perfect if he’d take a bit more time trying different things out and refining what he’s good at that’s what made his first 2 tapes so good he needed 1 more tape of him naturally progressing and figuring himself out as an artist while playing towards his strengths before his major label debut if that makes sense

Keem had DFMB and Bad Habits before tho.

Read what I said above basically he should’ve kept refining that sound before taking such a leap on his debut because some ideas didn’t translate as well
That reminds me DFMB is gonna get cult classic status if it doesn’t have that already

Oh u right about that then. Honestly it seems like Pglang going for some type of aesthetic or sound ngl.
Lotta hate in this thread. Chill out.

They’re just starting and pg lang seems to be taking this artistically ambiguous route but Kendrick and dave has to take into consideration that Keem and tanna are fairly premature artists and it’s going to take more to pull off the same risks/ideas that Kendrick was able to with 4-5 years of progression under his belt let them find their own identities yet help along the way of course it’s a different era
Another thing is Pg Lang isn’t really a record label it’s been a multi media thing from the start and the aesthetic has been fairly promising even if folks are indifferent towards the debut albums

Yeah regardless its gonna be interesting watching their moves going forward.
Yea it’s exciting lowkey a black panther soundtrack style video compilation of Kendrick showing the best of what his signees have to offer while also garnering interest for upcoming projects would’ve been an amazing debut I actually see that still happening

This basically my point summed up perfectly
