WRs:
Troy Franklin
Johnny Wilson
Malik Washington
Brendan Rice
Javon Baker
Ainias Smith
Ja’Tavion Sanders - TE
Trotter Jr. - LB
Jaden Hicks - S
Travis Glover - OL
Christian Mahogany - OL
names I’m looking out for today
My favorite picks:
1 white guy CB
2 Jeremiah Trotter Jr
3 edge rusher
4 first round corner
5 Johnny Wilson
I like taking 2 additional guards too. From what I read of Ainias Smith, he seems like a solid value player as well
Trevor Keegan had a DeSean jersey on when he met with Philly media after getting the call lmao, that's what's up
Draft recap, I'm not even gonna talk about the first 2 picks because I've already said enough how much I wanted a 1st round CB. We ended up with two of them, my overall CB1 and CB3.
When you look at the tools he'll give the coaching staff to work with, I completely understand the Jalyx Hunt pick. Between Huff, Sweat, and Nolan he can be allowed to learn until he's ready too (if he'll be ready this year, unlikely but you never know)
Will Shipley, don't know too much about him but he's fairly explosive, got some pass catching chops. If he can be a 3rd down/change of pace guy then that's cool
Ainias Smith might be my favorite Day 3 pick. He's got great hands, crazy stop-start quickness, and he's tough to bring down in space. The kind of things we'd need for a slot receiver that won't get too much volume. Very good special teams ability as a return man too
Trot Jr., in the 5th round and knowing his family ties to the team how can you not love this pick? A bit undersized but I saw that his best outcome is TJ Edwards, which would be the perfect outcome (we literally went to a SB with TJ Edwards as a starter). Had to come to grips with that you don't NEED special linebackers, you just can't have downright bad ones. I feel like Jr. can provide a high floor despite his size concerns, and that's all we can ask for
Trevor Keegan, looks like an a******, you want that in linemen
Johnny Wilson, guy is pretty raw I'm ngl. Needs to clean up the routes and fix the hands, might be a practice squad guy year 1
Dylan McMahon. A center drafted by the Eagles in the 6th round who weighs less than 300 lbs, he owes a percentage of his career earnings to Jason Kelce
Add on top of that we added three picks in the 3rd, 4th, and 5th rounds next year and this was a successful draft imo. A record low number of underclassmen this year because of NIL rules contributed to wanting those future picks, but part of me also thinks it's smart to load up on future picks pending whatever happens with the Saquon Barkley tampering investigation (daily "Fuck James Franklin" post)
Another thing that stands out to me about Ainias, despite his size he's a very willing blocker. That's another thing we need for a low volume slot, if you're not getting the ball do the dirty work
Covey gonna have some heavy competition at PR this szn
And that's why I currently don't have him making the team. If the margins at PR are thin and the others provide more ability at WR/RB/CB, doesn't make sense to roster him
Ship and Trott going to be beasts!
Although, trott is really small man. he had tough times wrapping up dudes on the collegiate level. I worry about him.
He is a dog nonetheless that will do whatever it takes to succeed.
Good, I think he can immediately start at the nickel. Can't trust Maddox
They need to chill with this KR talk tho lol
