why is that? I've used verified fan in the past and had decent experiences with it. With that being said, I'm worried about how this will play out because she's had such a huge boost in terms of popularity in the last year. I saw her two times in two separate, intimate venues for like 30 dollars each like two years ago, this is way different

Verified Fan is essentially a raffle for a raffle. Randomly selected for the chance to successfully buy tickets. Certain bands big enough to require this can't help it. They do it bc statistically it would save them from losing tickets to scalpers.

With Phoebe, she's doing venues that are literally too small on purpose. Boygenius played bigger shows and Phoebe is literally headlining festivals and such.

There's no reason for her to use Verified Fan. The only reason she is is because there are 5K people trying to see a show she's going to play with a 1.5K capacity. She needs to play bigger venues, but she's choosing not to - and as a result, sidelining tons of fans who won't even get the chance to buy tickets.

She's literally playing a 2,000 capacity venue near me when there are like 5 venues with 5,000 capacity that she could easily fill.

It's like she's purposefully creating forced scarcity.

Don't get me wrong, I'm going to try for tickets, but it's gonna be a s***show and she's the only one to blame for it tbh

There comes a point where you get big enough where you need to not play these kinds of shows, and, if you do, you're just encouraging people with the fattest wallets to get in.
