Not just a great album, but a landmark in Black culture. “The Revolution Will Not Be Televised” remains one of the most important songs ever made. Thoughtful, smart, funny, soulful, honest. Next time you call something a classic, try and imagine if it will still be relevant 50 years later
Damn, site should be ashamed.
Legit one of the best albums ever.
KTT don't be really respecting black music like that.
Title track is breathtakingly sad. That man's one of the greatest songwriters (and honestly, writers period) in human recorded history.
My dad rarely drinks but he was so sad the night he heard Gil passed away he hung out with our family friends.
Also, shoutout to him for having a decade long streak of nothing but 10/10 projects with no misses.
Him and Brian Jackson were like MJ and Scottie. You know you was getting nothing but classics with them.
