"The script is based on a story by Sarnoski and Vanessa Block, who will also produce. Oscar-winner Cage, who is producing, will play a truffle hunter living alone in the wilderness in Oregon. When his beloved foraging pig is kidnapped, he must journey into Portland – and his long-abandoned past – to recover her.
“What began as a very personal project has transformed into a labor of love for so many talented people,” Sarnoski said. “I’m thrilled for us all to be bringing this strange world to life.”" Source

let us know how it is
Been watching Cage in movies since I was a kid. I don't think he's a bad actor but I just don't see the hype. He coo~ tho
Seen a lot of ppl say this is one of Cage’s best performances ever
also this thing is getting straight up critical acclaim. 98% on RT with 58 reviews, 86 on Metacritic with 18 reviews
yeah this was unironically a great film. like everyone saying nic cage was fantastic in this
was worried from the trailer that the concept may be too goofy and while i did laugh at some points it’s definitely a serious film, and an emotional one too
visuals were also stunning, i might be biased because i’m from portland and not a lot of movies feature the city prominently but even if you’re not from there it was a gorgeous movie. score and cinematography were great too
very surprised this was this dude’s first film, i’ll definitely look out for his stuff in the future

How accessible of a film is it? Trying to get my dad to see it with me but I don’t want him to end up finding it “boring” or anything like that.
Is it a slow burn?
is this nuttier than Mandy?

yeah it’s pretty slow in terms of action, if your dad isn’t a big movie guy he probably would say it’s boring. i know mine would lol
it’s definitely not some inaccessible avant-garde movie but also not exactly blockbuster crossover appeal. the nature of the story being a mystery could make him interested to the end tho, you never know
