    Did you know pitbull and kanye discographies show striking similarities?

    Please do elaborate! Two of my all time fav artists despite the dips later on in their careers.

    Please do elaborate! Two of my all time fav artists despite the dips later on in their careers.

    2004: College dropout and MIAMI

    A young pitbull is introduced to the world on a song about women by an established artist by the name of lil jon similar to kanye and twista on slow jamz

    LR era / boatlift and el mariel era

    Both artists perfect their formula to appeal to the mainstream without forgetting their roots (pitbull with spanish speaking songs and ye with sampling)

    Graduation / rebelution

    The most obvious one. Need i say more? Hotel room service = stronger

    Both sample a house classic but make it their own and turn it into a new timeless masterpiece that gets the dancefloor go crazy

    808s = Armando

    When they were at their commercial peak they both decided to make a bold artistic move, one went full autotune and the other made a whole project in spanish. These 2 decisions show personality and vulnerability and the influence can be felt to this day. Every rapper that is not griselda uses autotune and spanish is like the 2nd most spoken language in the world today

    You may have guessed by now Planet Pit is pitbull’s MBDTF. Hits meet critical acclaim.

    Global warming = yeezus (commercial success dipped. No major singles but became a cult classic. Daft punk were on yeezus and afrojack worked on GM)

    They both get back in the spotlight with undeniable hits (45 seconds, all of TLOP vs greenlight, time of our lives, el taxi) and now they’re quiet again

    Striking similarities indeed. I'm amazed. Fantastic write-up, thank you! Would you mind if I add this to the second post ITT? With due credit, of course. We could use that post for fan write-ups like these or for what Pitbull means to people.

    Quite simply one of the greatest of all-time. The catalog of hits he has cultivated throughout his illustrious career is quite frankly second to none. His innovative genre-blending discography is one people will be discussing for decades to come. While I had admired his talent and his hit singles before, my story with him really all began in the 2012, my older brother worked with Sony Music Entertainment, and in lieu of actual payment of money, it seemed like he was compensated exclusively in CDs. And hey, that was cool. He scored tons of RCA Records artists, dozens of Chris Brown's "Fortune", and, best and perhaps most educationally of all, every Pitbull album up to that point. Post-Global Warming, Pitbull was still relevant and selling. Mr. Worldwide was hot. Again. And all his albums were at my fingertips. Out of drab brown boxes with discs marked for no-retail came … a god.

    My mind was blown.

    I went with Lil Chico, Mr. 305, and Mr. Worldwide on a strange odyssey and have never really come back since. Pitbull took me to expansive, exciting, new places with fascinatingly disjointed sounds. I’d never before been this hopelessly fascinated by an artist and their full body of work. How could a man with so very many different albums and styles of music (not to mention fashion styles) be so consistently out there and entertaining? Was he an alien? An androgynous shape-shifter? An extraordinarily talented dude from Miami? One minute Pitbull’s rapping about having 'em like Miley Cyrus, clothes off, twerking in their bras and thongs; the next he’s counting up to four, in two different languages, over Eurodance synth sounds provided by Lil Jon. And he’d never miss a turn. Always changing, evolving, challenging himself. Maybe the hotel room service and fireball got to his head, in a good way, but Pitbull just kept rolling out hits. It’s like the guy could do no wrong. He is eternal. He is universal. He is Pitbull.
