Albums growing on me ending could a been more solid but still album is fire. This feels like attempt from media to keep the narrative of Rap is done going on. Go listen My Eyes if you need some substance.
for reference, I like Veeze but how is this album better than Utopia?

I’m not knocking but i’m geniuely curious as to how people think this album is better, I’d love to hear opinions
this is like the most on brand thing pitchfork could ever do lol
@BernieX yk
The title is hilarious but even moreso when you consider the fact that everyone collectively knew who the parenthesis was about. But that’s even more funny when you consider there’s some people that knew before the parenthesis
they been saying travis scott albums are "empty" for 10 years now
at least theyre consistent
music doesn't have to have meaning or a message, they seem to not understand that

Alphonse Pierre loves plenty of meaningless fast food rappers. Go check his recent reviews on Pitchfork. The problem is that in addition to having no substance in his music, Trav also has no charisma. He can't sell himself as a person. You can get away with saying nothing if you're funny and likeable, but not even the biggest Trav stan would use those words to describe him lol
lmao alphonse's whole gimmick is gassing up any regional rap scene no matter if it's actually good or not and it's basically his thesis on this review
like all due respect how is sexy red's album a 8/10 and this is a 5.7
There's more substance on the album than I expected, Trav is just not a very good writer so it's tough to see the moments it bleeds through. Not surprising to see pitchfork not giving the benefit of the doubt to a black artist and only skimming Genius to try to find any value in the work.
It's like a 7.2
Definitely above average but it's just another Travis Scott album that sounds good when it's on and gets carried by features
The rage beat on “Fe!n” is played-out, but Playboi Carti’s new vocal trick (sounding like he has bronchitis) soaks up the attention
crine
To be real about this importance of lyrics debate going on, the loudest people are those who believe lyrics aren’t important at all. Not coincidentally the young male millennial-gen Z dominated internet we use. But there’s a whole world of demographics - and generations - that feel the opposite. We really underestimate how important lyrics are to not only long-standing traditions of what constitutes as “good music” but types of groups. These groups exist outside of our bubble…and even within it
Why do we think the so-called Big Three is still…kinda the big three a whole decade and plenty of waves coming and going in between? Just my thoughts tho

def didn't think this was carried by features, that was more of a thing on Astro

I feel like anybody saying it got carried by features is bugging man lol Like you not about to convince me that 21 & Rob49 carried lmaoo
What’s happened to those hip hop ex reviews. The one listen reviews that then transitioned into a full review. Those were dope as hell.
hip hop dx?
they going with the "10 people were killed" story
Are you saying they didn't die
