People on here will put Donda maybe on par with TLOP and many albums would be above it, and at the same time they somehow dissapointed with the score.
TLOP was an album with concept and with Donda we saw how Kanye was taking the concept out of the album as he took Pusha T from South Carolina, he took Never Losing Your Family out, and added way more features and songs.

mentioning manson is fine. The issue is that they say it’s because of his allegations and not because he had a super controversial image before any of that

It just goes to show how much general opinion and events outside music has an impactv (both in terms of critics loving an artist and hating). For example, if Kanye released Yeezus today that s*** would not get the same reaction it did. Likely attacked over the lyrics as sexist and puerile violently misogynistic trump etc

i don't care bout the score but they've barely talked bout the songs themselves. they've commented more on the rollout and kanye himself than the music. didn't even comment on half of the songs.
