Look, I get it. Not everyone is going to agree with my take, and that’s part of the job. When I review an album, I’m not writing to confirm your bias or cater to fandoms—I’m giving you my honest perspective, backed by years of listening to and studying music. That’s the gig.
Kendrick is undeniably one of the most important artists of our time, but not everything he drops is above critique. GNX is ambitious, no doubt, but ambition doesn’t automatically equal greatness. My review wasn’t about tearing him down; it was about engaging with the music critically. If that didn’t line up with your feelings about the album, cool—we’re allowed to disagree.
But let’s be real: the energy some of y’all bring to these threads makes it clear you don’t want reviews; you want validation. That’s not what I’m here for. Let the music speak for itself, and if you think I’m off the mark, fine—but at least try to engage with the points instead of coming with pitchforks. Respectfully.
Real
if that's an impersonator he's pretty good. I've followed Alphonse's letterboxd for a while and that's how he writes
No way its actually him cause I peeped the profile and he follows me for some reason. I would def remember if Alphonse Pierre followed me
The reviewer doesn’t give the score lmao
Oh word? how does it work then, exactly
Dude's a clown lol shockingly that talk about Kendrick's hypocrisy was projection. The same dude tryna call out Kendrick for his ties with Dre frequently fans out over mid run of the mill internet rappers whose greatest claims to fame are charges for assaulting women
this is the same guy that criticized euphoria for "homophobia" but then calls ether one of the greatest rap songs a few sentences later
first somewhat accurate pitchfork score I have seen in a while
I think if kendrick fans are being honest the album is a 7/8
Props for putting on west coast rappers but they're dogshit

I've been feeling an 8 really liked Dody6 and AzChike's features. AzChike was great on Blue Lips too.
I'd have given the album a 7 but I'm not mad at this score. It's definitely interesting seeing Kendrick fans be so bothered whenever he does anything and it isn't immediately followed by worldwide praise and adulation. Just goes to show how little criticism he's ever had to deal with.
That's why track 1, Kendrick was crying about Snoop Dogg and Wayne not kissing his ass. He legit thinks those are valid things to be that upset about lol.

can't take you seriously if you got that he wants them to kiss his ass from the song lmao

He was b****ing because they didn't support him. Snoop didn't even support Drake but the whole West Coast and rest of the US and the world supporting Kendrick wasn't enough. He's on that album still crying about people not picking a side. I know a sissy when I see one.
He definitely can't withstand 1/10th of the criticism Drake's been dealing with his entire career, especially this year. He'll crack.
