  • got me through tuff times working on royal caribbean cruise lines

  • Should be a top10. Future is the goat of his generation if we’re being honest (pun intended). He released Monster, Beast Mode, Nights, DS2, and what a time to be alive all in less than a year. I don’t care if half of that are mixtapes, that’s 4 classics minimum.

    well this is a dumb opinion there’s a clear evolution with honest -> rolling into monster which still contains some of his best writing

    I could be wrong but i think i heard the scores are an average of multiple staff members which is why sometimes the review doesnt match the score

    Like an album w a 6 will have a positive review and an album w a 7 will have a negative one

    see I thought this forever but recently I saw a pitchfork writer directly deny this and say they didn't know where it came from so idk. maybe it used to be that way but post condé nast it changed? or they only do that for mainstream albums?

    Maybe a hot take but I don't really respect going back and reviewing classic projects as a major publication. It's easy to give a classic a high score because you already are aware of its impact and reputation. If I want to see a reviewer give an opinion on a piece of work I want it in the moment, even if they get it wrong

    You right, they 100% didn't feel like this when it dropped

  • good album but obvious cynicism from pitchfork as usual. they ALWAYS "revisit" these albums years after the consensus that theyre classics becomes undeniable. "retroactive review" is so p**** and cynical.
