L.E.S alone makes this album better than 1.6

the intro is one of the best hooks i`ve ever heard

There are some really great moments that are undone by cringey one liners

    You are welcome

“I got a girl on my arm, dude show some respect, something crazy and Asian, Virginia Tech”

Wait WTF?? Did Gambino get s*** on more for this line, that is really disrespectful

2011 was peak type for shock humor this was par the course. It's like trying to s*** on Tyler for pre Wolf stuff

Album wasnt good to start with but aged like milk. “Awaken, My Love” is god level compared to it

not a fan of armchair caucasians putting rap through a pitchfork blender, but as I get older, and as a highly, highly, highly successful black creative myself, I'm less a fan of every black creative leaning on the "too white for the blacks, and too black for the whites" crutch

so I can get behind the criticism of that "only black guy at a sufjan concert" line

In the past I've been guilty of it myself, thinking it makes me special as a black person that I like Dylan or Vampire Weekend or whatever, but it really doesn't make you unique and it's a lame crutch

Why would you be special for being black and liking Bon Iver when Kanye was working with Justin Vernon in 2010

gambino before BTI is painful to listen to no offense

yeah I was gonna change that to something else since Bon Iver got the major black cosign. he's a bad example. it was less so Iver and moreso people like Vampire Weekend that I felt black people weren't up on

but so many big black artists (and I'm including all forms of art here) play that whole "I was too black for the white kids and too white for the black kids" thing and I used to think it was cool but now I think it's pretty wack

F***ing pathetic how music media outlets will write borderline hit pieces like this and then use his name for clicks years later when he becomes a household name. They did the same thing with Mac with that Blue Slide Park review. F*** Pitchfork and everyone who loves them.

music writers are people who are too untalented to write anything else. journalists in general are pretty s*** people and it is dying industry full of people trying to farm clicks however they can

the thing Trump was most right about is that journalists are the enemy of the people

Pitchfork writers are 35 year old white guys who listen to Clairo and seek deep meaning in it because they want to hang out in high school parking lots and the women who remind them of Clairo in their lives never wanted to date them

nothing is changing the fact that mac miller and chilldish gambino were two of the worst active rappers at one point

wait, Mac used to suck? when? I just kind of missed his entire career tbh. never really listened to him at all

  • Been listening to Gambino since Sick Boi mixtape

Review was hella justified and that album sucks donkey d***

Thankfully he leveled up on each release after

they cover and review music should they say all artists and albums are great all the time? if somethings bad call it bad, they are a news outlet

I used to listen to it back in the day I go back for nostalgic reasons sometimes but never for the actual quality of the music
