"he makes himself the main character in his queer relatives’ stories "
what did they mean by this
Straight up reactionary radlib take.
They doing that to be different because everybody else giving out 10s. Also cause Kodak is on the album
At least they not hypocrites then if its cause of Kodak
what the f*** does ‘verging on antipop’ even mean
so many of these songs have a commercial sound. they’re making it sounds like kendrick is rapping over free jazz or noise or some s*** lmao.
They just wanna sound like intellectuals
Hate when people use difficult language when there are more accessible ways to get the same message across, clarity over complexity always
At some point it just becomes a circlejerk of people who made up imaginary concepts to flex their knowledge of complex words and ideas that have no basis in reality

It'd obviously be much better if he spoke on behalf of and projected his own opinions through his transgender cousin!

Wasnt it proven that higher educated people not necessarily 'smarter' than others, they just use more difficult words others don't understand lmao?
(Can see this hearing all those professors in uni talk tbh)
Knew this would happen, f***in leftards
The album was not socialist enough for their asses
Socialism is when you're a pretentious music critic
And the more pretentious you are the more socialism it is until you got so pretentious that it's communist
Pitchfork calculating what makes an album a 7.6 vs a 7.7
GOAT evolution of a top three smiley

That's the type of critical patter you hear from outlets that review a double album this dense within 2 days of release
Same goes the other way btw all those 10's it received within like 6 hrs are meaningless imo

As in an actual study lol?
Higher education does correlate with IQ but IQ itself is extremely flawed
Academics love circlejerking about models and concepts that don't exist tho
Kendrick meanders to the album’s high points, stopping for strange and goofy hot takes on cancel culture, a neuron-melting non-issue that explains literally no rich and famous person’s actual life.
but yet rich people keep telling us about this culture....hmmm
Nah the talk abt cancel culture is annoying asf tho
Finally a fair score

Idk i'll have to look it up. I'm sure i've read/seen something like that before.
Think it indeed had more to do with higher educated people overcomplicating a lot of things, while almost everyone can understand concepts and such in simpler words and terms. So it had more to do with language than actual intelligence i think. Will try to find it
So what exactly is the purpose of having Kodak on there anyway?
I can infer smth myself but i don't think it's obvious when looking at how he was used on the album
Like it when they pro-Black, but I'm more Kodak Black
wait so people can stop complaining about critics sucking his d*** now ?
Probably not cause it's still higher than their certified mid papi
Like it when they pro-Black, but I'm more Kodak Black
Yeah but what does that mean exactly
Maybe it's not that deep and just him trying to distance himself of that image of being a savior since he's associating with somebody people don't like
yeah not a very well written review. threatens to engage with the album in interesting ways a couple of times but basically falters at the end.

Well yeah vocabulary is an important part of education and is actually very loosely correlated with IQ compared to other aspects of intelligence
fr wtf are they even talking about, it's his f***ing family he can say wtf he wants
They need clicks
mf listened to this and thought ‘damn this is sounding antipop to me
’
I was like damn did i just learn abt a new genre when he said antipop but im convinced this mf just wanted to invent a new word for bragging rights

Pitchfork dont review albums they review people
What is so hard to understand about the word “antipop”?
Its clear that the album is not a typical “pop” album featuring a messy structure (look at the tracklisting) and minimalist production, with half the songs having no clear structure or chorus as opposed to most “pop” albums.
Also, why are you getting so mad, it’s just one persons opinion.
