Actually, Fantano is the one thing that goes against what you’re saying

Hate him or love him he does actually speak on the music

I agree I like his reviews.

People really stanning critics and reviews when they’re just from ppl with their own biases and frame of reference, presenting subjective opinions as objective with their ratings. Please

Damn they actually gave it a rating it deserved pretty surprising.

  • May 16, 2022

lowkey one of the only times where Pitchfork giving a 7 doesn't feel like bullshit (i don't dislike the album)

  • May 16, 2022

I actually think pitchfork went more OD on Harlow than Kenny. Still, this shoulda been like a 8.3 or something

    Not too far off

  • May 16, 2022

Now the people who said critics will always rate his album higher than a 9 don't have s*** to say, making it obvious that they only gave his older albums high ratings because they wanted to Kendrick STILL manages to win

  • Skrimps N Grits

UU is NOT better than this cmon

    It very easily is.

What crazy is Auntie Diaries literally starts with “This is how we conceptualize human beings” it advertises a completely subjective perspective.

What the masses don't realize is that Kendrick released a mid album as a satire of the current music landscape. He purposefully made an average album to highlight how stale today's music is. The album wasnt trash it just flew over your heads

A real classic. Take notes, Kendrick!

Where the theme “twerking is a political statement” is considered worth praise

The issue here is the totality of the score with the written review. It commits to being completely dismissive, intentionally edgy, reaching with unfitted comparisons (He put Worldwide Steppers and Cave B**** really in the same sentence lol), and involved errors of song names at the time of publishing.

This review screams rush job and that's what happens when you assign this album to a writer who has a tougher criteria for hip hop than he does with other genres. Read his review of Ibeyi - Spell 31 (which I really enjoyed) if you want to see the inconsistency.

    Pitchfork with another misstep

I hope they review the They Hate Change album
