I think people are confusing the pumping from the compression and just regular old distortion for ai artifacts

They sound distinctly different

That’s why people thought Push Ups was AI, all of that pumping and distortion sounds funny. It’s called an unprofessional/rough mix

I will say though these are exceptionally rough for artists of their caliber. My reference mixes would never on my worst day but it’s a lot of people in these rooms that know the right people but don’t know what they’re doing so idk.

I also think the cadence and tone of Kendrick’s voice on this is wayyy off too so I agree with the ai team about that but again heavy compression can really fw the timbre of somebody’s voice and squeeze all the dynamics out to where it sounds monotonous when it’s actually not. I’ve seen producers with big credits throw RCompressor on a lead and crank in until they’re getting like 10db gain reduction with a fast attack too so all the transients are just getting annihilated.
