Great review
I listened to this when i was like 15 years old so it obviously hitted different for me
Only thing is that this isnt posthomus, this was the last album he released before dying
Ahh they told me it was posthumous in the planner thread. I may check out another juice album just cause, they were saying this was a weaker project to start on

I do disagree with that but i think the one agreed best project for him is Goodbye & Good Riddance (his debut album). That one was also the one getting love in the planner thread
Its a lot shorter so yeah, u dont miss anything for checking it out
we must find you a partner post haste

Review: Univeria Zekt – The Unnamables
I didn’t really know what to expect at all heading into this album. This turned out to be a very strange eclectic mix of music. Lots of various genre influence here; prog rock, prog jazz, pure jazz. I love Pink Floyd & King Crimson but this was an entirely different experience. Every song seems completely different from the previous, almost like this is a compilation album from different musicians. There is zero cohesiveness to it yet it somehow still remains kind of cohesive. Many of sounds overall also SCREAM 70’s and I was confused when Spotify listed this album as being released in 2010. Seems like a re-release because a google search revealed that it was 1972 which makes a lot more sense.
You Speak And Speak And Colegram – I could see this as a theme song to some completely random lost in time 70’s movie. It’s a very cinematic song. I don’t really listen to music like this for personal enjoyment but I appreciate it for what it is.
Altcheringa – Very interesting prog jazz/rock piece but almost like if reimagined with a big band theme in mind. Gives me Sherlock Holmes vibes, I can’t even explain beyond that. Lots of interesting sounds here.
Clementine – So we went from Dolemite to Sherlock Holmes to a fairy forest at night. Very smooth and soft piece, no real progressive elements here. As I mentioned, seems like a completely different artist made this.
Something’s Cast A Spell – This is the most prog song on the album to me and I enjoyed it a lot. Definitely my favorite, could see myself listening to this again.
Ourania – Oh ok we’re just doing pure jazz now but also overlaying prog rock elements into it but with some sort of unappealing discordant vibes. The portion at 1:20 almost made me turn the song off. I’m not sure if they were going for something unsettling but I was listening at full volume in my car and my ears were not happy at all. That noise returned later in the song. Just not my thing. Wouldn’t listen to this again.
Africa Anteria – This song is fine. I enjoyed the drums, especially at the end. I’m not sure it needed to be 11 minutes long. The screeching outro is also not it for me. Maybe just not my type of thing in general.
Undia – My second favorite song on the album. Something about the vocals really does it for me. And when the song opens up around the 2 minute work, it’s very satisfying. Experience is like a cirque du soleil song from mars during Carnivale in Rio. Definitely see myself listening to this again.
Overall Score: 6/10; I can appreciate it for what it is but it’s very boring to me at parts and overall not very enjoyable of an album listening experience. Some of the sounds just don’t sit well, almost like somebody playing an instrument that they’ve never played before. I get it’s what they were going for though. It feels like the sense of “weirdness” was one of the main intents for this album, and they did it but I’m not sure if that’s really a good thing. I can’t fault the interesting sounds though throughout, can’t think of anything else that sounds like parts of this. And the highs on this album definitely get my attention.

Beautiful review
This album is truly a gem
@yungpapi i forgot to do the write up
also one of the albums that changed my life and ive probably heard it over 100 times. This was the first album I fell in love with tbh, was probably like 5th grade and my friend put me on to them. Also started my love/obsession of electronic music that lasted throughout high school. I think what made is so captivating to me is the futuristic sound, I had never heard anything like that and it was so effective at transporting me to a different world. As I've gotten older I don't adore the album as much as I used to but it will always be one of the top 5 most formative albums in my life. Favorite songs back then were Aerodynamic, Nightvision, and Something About Us. Favorite songs now are Digital Love and One More Time. undoubtedly a classic but in a way I think me listening to it so many times made it hard to view it in an objective lens because this music is basically baked into my DNA at this point. still revisit every few years. There are a few songs I don't care for as much now (Too Long is my least fav) and unfortunately none of these songs rise to the level of being near top-tier music for me like they used to.
8.5/10
De Ti Depende
I love big band music especially when the music is so layered like it is here. I have a bad habit of kinda tuning Spanish music out into background music since I don’t understand the language so it took a few listens for me to be comfortable reviewing this. Héctor’s ability to not only perfectly pronounce the more tongue twisty words but keep them in key is impressive. The melody’s on tracks like Periódico De Ayer and De Ti Depende are as much fun as they are haunting.
As a Puerto Rican this is classic music even if this if my first time being aware of Héctor by name rather than just hearing him at a function or in the car. It sucks because I can’t say too much more about the album beyond the surface (I.e lyrics and song meanings). But I really enjoyed this album, salsa reminds me of my grandparents and the music they liked to play and dance to. Makes me very nostalgic for not only my childhood and a time I didn’t get to live through but for the culture of my family that I wish I was more fully in tune with. Very fun listen and I’m glad this was recommended to me. I can’t wait to play some of this stuff around my grandma.

Seems like we had a very similar experience with this album, I still spin it at least once a year and I still love it but it’s not quite the same for me as it was when I was 12. Glad we both liked our picks this week tho

Slint - Spiderland review
On first listen, I was ready to say alright this spoken word stuff just isn’t for me. The guitar was catchy, the drums worked great with it, but some of the vocals weren’t hitting for me. Besides the opener, that’s my favorite song on here, it’s awesome. Then a few days later I listened again. I was looking at the album cover, the cinematic orientation, the guys bobbing carefree faces. I started trying to really paint the vignettes in my head that the lyrics described. The guitar got even more charming and expressive as it changed with the emotions of the scenes. It was a sort of campy movie-like experience that felt more immersive than any lush atmospheric projects I’d heard that were shooting for cinematic listens had done for me. That guitar was just really talking, and I grew to enjoy the lyrics a lot. 8/10

I dont even know what genre this is. Its like the edgiest rock music I have ever listened to. It sounds like its trying too hard to be edgy and deliver that "shock" factor to the listener. This is mainly because of the trash lyrics. Corny lyrics and slurs (i think i heard a hard R thrown in there at one point) just put me off immediately. The instrumental was cool, i love the synthetic bass and guitar riffs on some songs like with ka-boom ka-boom. Spade was a nice gothic song and mobscene was cool. But overall this album aint it.
