This dude has been making music for a minute and honestly I think a good amount of his older music is good TBH. But ever since he dropped WLR he's honest to God kind of just been giving everyone the minimum and people have been hyping his ass up WAY too much. Especially when they don't need to be.

I just listened to WLR over in full, and yeah I get that it's probably not for people my age (I'm almost 31) but damn he's not even that much younger than me and the tracks he's been dropping since 2020 feel half assed and not even complete.

I get that he's super popular among the youth and that's cool, but if he's trying to steer rap in a different way I feel like even if he's trying to get some inspiration from Rocky (which is so obvious) he needs to put some more effort into his music rather than phoning in some trash and expecting the producers to take charge.

WLR and beyond hasn't been my thing but 2015-2018 was crazy

Carti is aggressively unprofessional and frankly just lazy but i really love the post wlr singles, some of his greatest work imo.

I can appreciate a classic DavidP thread but I have to disagree.

I believe Carti has consistently made great music since he entered the scene in 2015 and has only improved and innovated. He’s put together a solid label and has had massive influence on the game with every drop. But I can understand and even agree with someone thinking his influence is negative. I don’t believe he phones it in.

I think he’s actually a true student of the game and it intentional with everything he does
