I've been a Carti fan for years bruh, I'm interested in where he goes as an artist. This era he isn't making music up to par to the old s*** (for me and clearly others). I laid out my exact complaint (this Bans x Carti song is the perfect example of what I was saying) and think if he doesn't try to diversify his flows or his rapping away from just the same s***, its gonna get played out (and it already has for many). Just like you, I want WLR to be great, but based on the recent features and snippets, I'm losing hope that it will be great. Like I said gotta wait for the album to drop to judge but when an artist seems like they are regressing usually you criticize so they don't continue down that path.

here’s the issue i have

i keep hearing about the “lack of diversity” coming from him vocally, yet he’s literally released ONE song and ONE feature in this immediate era, as the lean and bans features were both leaks.

if this album comes out and you listen to it in full and feel there wasnt enough diversity from him on it, then ok I absolutely understand where you’re coming from, but imo yall are overreacting big time

yes there’s been a lot of clowning and hate on social media, but you saying 75% is exactly why i previously said yall are overreacting

and even if it WAS 75%, that still doesnt automatically mean he’s doing something wrong. Much of the music we regard as classic or trendsetting was hated on and clowned at first, and nowadays you see people dropping albums to appease their fanbases that end up fading away in a matter of months

another thing, I don't think it's fair to compare @ meh because that was hyped up as it was his first solo return to music in a while, and pain is a good song even tho carti's verse is mid but drake carries.

so what are we using to judge if 75% of people hate his new sound then???? tweets? an anecdotal experience?

like i said, it sounds to me like youre overreacting but hey, i completely agree that this s*** could end up being complete trash, there’s always that possibility

i just feel like that’s a taxing way to look at s*** especially if you’re a fan of the guys music up until this point
