nahhhh dude has been incredibly hyped and praised artistically for years before he even had a project

I remember a friend putting me onto him back in like 2014 before I was even on this site

Die Lit just opened him and that already existing hype to a whole bunch of new audiences (one of which is Fantano core)

But the hype has always been there

Bro you wasn't there I literally live out here all these dudes used to be out in Edgewood the atl bonfire carti never had this type of hype. People looked at him in the same vein as Yacthy and s***. No one was playing carti at any events. I heard Beef and broke boi a couple times but that's it.

i remember pitchfork giving him more praise before fantano, they were f***ing with carti since self-titled and i think fantano hated it

The point of what I was saying is that good response from critical music reviewers changed how carti was viewed. Back in the day he used to basically make off brand currensy style music.

i mean that's jus bc he developed completely into his own style ion think it's solely bc of critics

in the mainstream, maybe a little bit but he's been big on the internet for time he's was bound to be mainstream regardless of reviews just like travis

Considering where Carti came from I really can't believe he's generated this much hype with his style of music. I really feel like the reception of him changed a lot when Melon said he liked Die Lit.

carti was never an ATL rapper he was internet / soundcloud

and he was the father of that entire wave and everyone acknowledged it on the internet back then

he’s the reason clout goggles were a f***ing thing

we cant leave its bondage with fantano when the biggest star to come out of this site is attributed to fantano core and art hoes
