The general public isn’t checking for new music that day it would get more first day streams if it dropped on a regular day. People on music forums gonna check it but not regular people

Of course you do but statistically less people will stream on Christmas, it’s not that hard to follow that logic. Labels usually want to maximize the first day/week streams/sales numbers and a Christmas release would not be the way to maximize it

Maybe if the album release ends up pushing that angle a lot more than it has been pushed so far, the art would have to be blatantly satanic enough to make a legitimate controversy, then maybe you could be right. But still that would maybe help the streams the next few days. I’m not saying I wouldn’t release it if I was the label, I’m just saying from watching how these labels have moved, especially lately, doing the most to maximize every stream and opportunity, this would be a real shock to me because no matter what happens, this move doesn’t maximize first day streams and that’s usually what they’re all about
